Children's allergic reactions and the EpiPen
Parents whose children have extreme allergic reactions may be confident using an Epipen, but when you have other people's children to play or for a sleepover and you're presented with their pack it is a daunting responsibility. This 5 min video takes you through the steps clearly and easily - be safe, be prepared.
Fortunately, not every child has a food allergy or intolerance, that means most parents aren't aware on how to proceed when an anaphylactic episode occurs. Birthday parties, afternoon teas, camping trips and days out may gather children who suffer extreme allergic reactions. So even if you're a not directly affected by it, it doesn't hurt to be prepared.
The most common triggers are foods, such as nuts and peanuts. But insect stings and medications can also cause severe allergic reactions. The video bellow shows you how to use an EpiPen in case of an emergency. www.epipen.co.uk, also provides parents with important information on anaphylactic shock.
