The LTA (Lawn Tennis Association) launched mini-tennis for children aged 4yrs+ in 2000. The game consists of 3 colour-coded stages: red, orange and green (akin to traffic lights). At the first stage children play on small courts with low nets, small rackets (17") and soft, foam balls. The balls bounce low and slower giving children a good chance of hitting it. There are over 770 clubs offering mini-tennis and they can be found on the website above.
