This Royal Park is bordered by The Mall (between Buckingham Palace and Trafalgar Square), Horse Guards Parade and Birdcage Walk.  A long lake runs the entire length and is home to pelicans (fed by the park rangers between 2.30-3pm), there's a playground at the Buckingham Palace end (Birdcage walk side) and a band plays regularly in the summer where you can hire deckchairs and have a picnic.  The Inn the Park is also a popular family-friendly cafe/restaurant.
