The Pre-School Learning Alliance is a charity which aims to support parents wanting to set up parent and toddler group or a pre-school in their area. Membership starts at £35.50 per annum, and includes a monthly magazine, access to insurance services, discounts on their publications and local telephone and consultancy support. They also provide training courses for people looking to start a career in the childcare sector (you would need this if you wanted to set up a pre-school not a parent and toddler group. There are over 15,000 groups across the UK - so if you are just interested in joining a local parent and toddler group, then details are held by your local Children's Information Service (see Councils under Good Advice section).
