See what other parents are saying about Family Restaurant in London, WC2E:
You don't have to be a trainspotter to find this transport museum interesting. Situated on a corner of Covent Garden's piazza, you are immediately whisked up to the top floor where you can climb aboard a real "Omnibus" and listen to a recording of the "do's and dont's" of bus etiquette, and understand what a competitive business it was running a fleet of buses and the stabling, feeding and care of all the horses. The next level down is all about the steam engine and the first underground trains (and what to do with the steam in the tunnels). Finally, on the ground floor you see the emergence of electric engines, all the way through the wars to the modern day buses, taxis and trains. Throughout the museum are flaps to lift, trains to drive and carriages to walk through or sit in and children are given a special trail card which you stamp at special depots throughout the museum. We didn't try out the cafe, but thought the shop was great for travel gifts. Really worth the visit!
