Barbary Macaque monkeys roam totally free in 60 acres of woodland and meadows and families can wander along a ¾ mile path and observe the monkeys in their daily behaviour and habits. There are guides all along the path to point things out and to answer any questions. There are adventure play areas where mini 'monkeys' can let off steam and copy some of the antics they'll learn from the real ones! You can take your own picnic and eat at the picnic tables or the Banana Café has children's food, and the Jungle Shop has lots of gifts and souvenirs priced at children's pocket money level. Baby-changing facilities are also available. Open for February half term. Then March-October daily from 10am.
We strongly recommend you ring Trentham Monkey Forest before you set off on your family day out, to make sure they are open and to confirm admission prices. It may also be worth visiting the website for Trentham Monkey Forest, www.monkey-forest.com, to see if there are any special events on the day for which you may have to book a ticket. Please also be aware that if Trentham Monkey Forest hosts birthday parties, this may limit the access in the cafe/restaurant areas.
