A "butterfly zoo" where children can wander through free-flying butterflies, learning to identify and recognize them using cards and special magnification sheets. There is also the Amazing Hedge Puzzle and a children's play area where they can let off steam and run around, plus enter the Museum of Mazes, where they can also design their own mazes on the computer or using sand. There is a café and picnic area, and good disabled access and hence for buggies and prams. Open every day except Christmas Day from 10am-6pm (summer and 4pm in the winter).

We strongly recommend you ring Wye Valley Butterfly Zoo before you set off on your family day out, to make sure they are open and to confirm admission prices. It may also be worth visiting the website for Wye Valley Butterfly Zoo, www.butterflyzoo.co.uk, to see if there are any special events on the day for which you may have to book a ticket. Please also be aware that if Wye Valley Butterfly Zoo hosts birthday parties, this may limit the access in the cafe/restaurant areas.
