West Midlands Safari park was our favourite zoo this summer. having three children of differing agaes always presents us with the old age issue of finding somewhere all three children will have fun at (11yr, 7 and 18mths).
West Midlands provides all of that. A journey through the park in our car was great fun, the older children loved holding out the food and having the animals up close and personal! Although they all squelled when one got a bit close as a camel stuck its head straight into my lap and ate our map! The journey can be slow and hot on busy days so make sure you have plenty of drinks and snacks to hand. Once finished and parked up its time to interact with the zoo animals, my typical 7yr boy headed straight towards the reptile house and was entralled by the spiders. Erin giggled away at the penguins and could have watched for ages. By this point the 11yr old was looking for an adrenlin rush and wany=ted to get on the rides. Therefore after a picnic lunch (although there is plenty to buy at reasonable prices if you prefer cooked or not carrying bags) we bought wristbands that entitled unlimitied rides. Agian we were pleased that they was plenty for each age child. erin doesn't do rides yet but the other two had to be dragged away at the end of the day.
This was a great day that catered well with modern families demands and using Tesco clubcard points made the day a cheapish day out compared with other themeparks. Not one for big teenagers prehaps but certainly entertaining for us.
