Didcot, Oxfordshire

This railway centre has a unique collection of Great Western Railway steam engines, coaches, wagons, buildings and small relics set around the original engine shed. There is a refreshment area which serves hot and cold meals and a shop that sells collectables, books and all things steam train. Thomas the Tank Engine visits in October and there will be Santa Specials in December.  

We strongly recommend you ring Didcot Railway Centre before you set off on your family day out, to make sure they are open and to confirm admission prices. It may also be worth visiting the website for Didcot Railway Centre, www.didcotrailwaycentre.org.uk, to see if there are any special events on the day for which you may have to book a ticket. Please also be aware that if Didcot Railway Centre hosts birthday parties, this may limit the access in the cafe/restaurant areas.
