The Great Notley Country Park covers 100 acres of open green space with a number of different playground structures to entertain and educate children. A modern and eco-friendly visitor centre has an excellent cafe plus picnic talbes outside. There are slides, swings, as well as climbing nets and other assault courses for older children. Toddlers will love the giant sandpit. You can also hire bicyles for a longer trek. Open 8am until dusk.

I went here with my sister this summer and we had a fab morning. 3 boys aged 13 months, 6 and 8 charged around the playground structures (which are beautifully set out around a landscaped park). There seemed to be something for all abilities and ages. It was really busy when we arrived and I noticed the car park was already full by 12, but there is so much space you don't really feel that it's busy. Cafe was nice although the wasps were a pain. Next visit we'll hire some bikes and probably plan to stay the whole day. Highly recommended.
