Six acres of woodland, wetland, farm and gardens provide shelter for over 130 species of animals (deer, otters, owls, snakes, spiders and fish), plus two rare red pandas brought to the centre in 2005. The natural habitat also provides for native wildlife such as newts, kingfishers, squirrels etc. Lilliput Village is aimed at the under 5s and has ducks rabbits etc, plus there is a playground and various park events over the year organised by the Nature Centre. Full access for prams/buggies, plus baby-changing facilities. Open daily April-October, 10am-5pm, and weekends only from November-March, 10am-4pm.
We strongly recommend you ring Birmingham Nature Centre before you set off on your family day out, to make sure they are open and to confirm admission prices. It may also be worth visiting the website for Birmingham Nature Centre, www.birmingham.gov.uk/naturecentre, to see if there are any special events on the day for which you may have to book a ticket. Please also be aware that if Birmingham Nature Centre hosts birthday parties, this may limit the access in the cafe/restaurant areas.
