There are exhibits and activities to fire all imaginations here. The best bet is to visit their website, which organises visit suggestions by age group from under 5s to adults, but generally, there are interesting things to explore for all ages. New galleries for little ones include "Where Am I?", where you can see how your body is put together, try a new look or even hear what your voice would sound like if you were the opposite sex. The Garden is also a great area for sensory experiences. There's an IMAX 3D cinema showing films better suited to older children (there is a charge for these, and the fabulous Fly Zone interactive flight simulators). Special events include workshop, storytelling and science displays. Open daily (except 24-26 December) from 10am-6pm (7pm in school holidays). NB last entry is 5.15pm/6.15pm.
We strongly recommend you ring Science Museum before you set off on your family day out, to make sure they are open and to confirm admission prices. It may also be worth visiting the website for Science Museum, www.sciencemuseum.org.uk, to see if there are any special events on the day for which you may have to book a ticket. Please also be aware that if Science Museum hosts birthday parties, this may limit the access in the cafe/restaurant areas.
