Children can get a real feel for what it's like to drive buses, trams and trains old and new at this lively museum. There are always themed events around school holidays and special exhibitions, and there are hands-on galleries where children can explore London life through the sounds, textures and experiences of bygone times. There are free, downloadable trails and for smaller children there is a miniature London for them to take over! As well as the Upper Deck cafeteria and bar, there is an indoor picnic area space if you want to bring your own food. Open daily 10am-7pm (11am-7pm Fri, 10am-6pm Sun).
We strongly recommend you ring London Transport Museum before you set off on your family day out, to make sure they are open and to confirm admission prices. It may also be worth visiting the website for London Transport Museum, www.ltmuseum.co.uk, to see if there are any special events on the day for which you may have to book a ticket.
