You can't expect to do this museum in a morning, unless you do the 90 minute tour which concentrates on specific areas of the collection. But the family activities are plentiful during the holidays and the family backpack with games and ouzzles will help bring the ancient arts alive. Open 10am-5pm daily and upto 8.30pm on thurs and fri. Admission free.

We strongly recommend you ring British Museum before you set off on your family day out, to make sure they are open and to confirm admission prices. It may also be worth visiting the website for British Museum, www.thebritishmuseum.ac.uk, to see if there are any special events on the day for which you may have to book a ticket. Please also be aware that if British Museum hosts birthday parties, this may limit the access in the cafe/restaurant areas.
