A mansion house with the finest collection of Huguenot silver in Britain, and with a u201Cbelow stairsu201D section too! Surrounded by lovely parkland through which you can walk and there are picnic areas, there is also a 250 acre deer park containing an ancient fallow deer herd. During the summer there are lots of events for old and young, the most interesting of which is the Bat Walk (July), Boredom Busters (during August holidays), Magic Lantern Show (September) and Deer in Rut (October) u2013 as some of these need booking it is best to ring first. The café has a dedicated children's zone and a children's menu, and there are baby-changing facilities. Pushchair access is comprehensive. Open end March to end October from 12 noon to 5pm (or the gardens from 11.00am to 5.30pm).
