Gibside is the ancestral estate of the late Queen Mother’s family, the Bowes-Lyons. As well as the Palladian chapel, with its unusual three-tiered pulpit, are stables and a Column to Liberty - all set within a large wooded riverside landscape garden. Tea rooms and award-winning loos! Various events include Children’s Day and Brass in the Park. Grounds and stables open all year, Chapel mid-March to Oct.
