Set within 60 acres of riverside gardens, Hampton Court Palace is a great family day out. Even if your children are too young to appreciate the grandeur and evocative space within the Palace (great for children 6yrs+) the Maze is a hoot that should keep everyone busy for a while. There's a soft play room for under 5s, audio guides for older children and in rooms like the Tudor Kitchens sight and smells have been conjured up to take you all back in time.  There are seasonal festivals running throughout the year, as well as the Christmas ice-rink. Open 9.30-6pm Tues-Sun and 10.15am-6pm Mon during the summer, and closes at 4.30pm during the winter.

We strongly recommend you ring Hampton Court Palace before you set off on your family day out, to make sure they are open and to confirm admission prices. It may also be worth visiting the website for Hampton Court Palace, www.hrp.org.uk, to see if there are any special events on the day for which you may have to book a ticket.
