Think scones, jam and clotted cream teas. For kids, cheese toasted fingers were popular, and there are also great pasta dishes. Cakes are made by local yummy mums - and are just that. This excellent café/restaurant caters well for young families with space for buggies and a play area at the back for the children and a loo that can cope with a small family. But there is also a grown up area at the front where you can come on your own and read a magazine, or watch the world go by. You can buy tea and jam to take home, along with a range of sandwiches, picnic teas for the children, and cold drinks.
We strongly recommend you ring Crumpet before you set off on your family day out, to make sure they are open and to confirm admission prices. It may also be worth visiting the website for Crumpet, www.crumpet.biz, to see if there are any special events on the day for which you may have to book a ticket. Please also be aware that if Crumpet hosts birthday parties, this may limit the access in the cafe/restaurant areas.
