A working farm museum with rare-breed sheep, pigs, cattle, a donkey and a shire horse. In the farmhouse cottage there are daily demonstrations of chores from the ''olden days'' such as bread making, laundry, spit and polish and the dairy maid makes butter twice a day. There is a café selling snacks, baby changing facilities and good access for buggies/prams. Open from the end March-end of October, Tue-Sun and bank holiday Monday only 10am-5pm.
We strongly recommend you ring Acton Scott Historic Farm before you set off on your family day out, to make sure they are open and to confirm admission prices. It may also be worth visiting the website for Acton Scott Historic Farm, www.actonscottmuseum.co.uk, to see if there are any special events on the day for which you may have to book a ticket. Please also be aware that if Acton Scott Historic Farm hosts birthday parties, this may limit the access in the cafe/restaurant areas.
