Slade House Farm Donkey Sanctuary is home to about 160 donkeys who live in small groups which can be seen on many of the walks around the Sanctuary.
There is also a herd of Pouitou donkeys as well as a larger group of older donkeys that require special care. There are a couple of donkeys who keep the staff and visitors on their toes with their lively antics! Bill and Ben are twin brothers. They came into the Sanctuary in 2003 and are now part of our show team who visit local events to promote the Sanctuary.
We strongly recommend you ring The Donkey Sanctuary before you set off on your family day out, to make sure they are open and to confirm admission prices. It may also be worth visiting the website for The Donkey Sanctuary, www.vie.gla.ac.uk/donkey/, to see if there are any special events on the day for which you may have to book a ticket. Please also be aware that if The Donkey Sanctuary hosts birthday parties, this may limit the access in the cafe/restaurant areas.

My children love the donky sanctuary you can go for a quick look around all spend all day there walking down to the sea. The donkey sanctuary is a charity and they do not charge to go but there are several places where you can put a donation. Toliet and changing facilities are excelent. Well worth a visit.
