St Michael's Mount is an 11th centuary stone Benedictine priory on its own island. Sensible shoes are advisable as causeway and paths are cobbled and uneven. Steep climb to castle. Unsuitable for prams and pushchairs. Passages in the castle are narrow, so some delays may occur in the height of the season. Dogs are not allowed in the castle or grounds and there are no facilities or grassed areas for dogs on the island. Access by boat or causeway and all visits to St Michael's Mount are subject to favourable weather conditions
We strongly recommend you ring St Michael's Mount before you set off on your family day out, to make sure they are open and to confirm admission prices. It may also be worth visiting the website for St Michael's Mount, www.nationaltrust.org.uk, to see if there are any special events on the day for which you may have to book a ticket. Please also be aware that if St Michael's Mount hosts birthday parties, this may limit the access in the cafe/restaurant areas.
