Stansted Mountfitchet, Essex

This castle and village take you back almost 900 years to witness a picture of medieval life. There are animals to feed as you wander around the village (goats, guinea fowl, chickens, peacocks) and plenty of places to picnic. Also café with nappy changing facilities and a shop. Open 10am-5pm daily. Admission £3.80 or £3 for 2-14yrs, free for Under 2s.
