King William Walk, Greenwich, London
The beautifully restored Cutty Sark is the world's only surviving tea clipper and one of Britain's greatest maritime treasures. The ship has been raised 3 meters in the air and for the first time visitors can walk underneath the shining copper hull to admire its streamlined shape. Special family weekends (1st weekend of the month) and half term and holiday events offer a number of craft workshops, sea-themed stories and roleplay games (eg Meet the captain). And a special children's trail tells the story of the ship's cargoes with interactive touch screens on board and in the dry dock below. Not suitable for pushchairs on board although there is wheelchair access. Cafe serving drinks, snacks and quite sophisticated sandwiches (so we suggest you bring your own). Open Tues-Sun 10am-5pm (last admission 4.30pm). Admission: £12 adult, 5-16yrs £6.50 and under 5s free.
