Music for Baby
Baby Sing Christmas is a wonderful new album that creates a perfect atmosphere for your baby’s first Christmas. A lovely offering from Music for Baby, it contains predominantly guitar and softly voiced based arrangements of favourite Christmas songs to soothe and appease your baby, maintaining a cosy and magical feel as you prepare for the festive celebrations.
Songs on the album include: Let It Snow, Away in a Manger, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Winter Wonderland, and We Wish You a Merry Christmas.
Music for Baby aims to create an ideal musical environment for enhancing life. It is well known that playing music to a baby still in the womb is beneficial in later life, and that children respond to music long before they can speak. However, oversimplifying music is not necessary to establish an understanding between the infant and the music. The arrangements are thus carefully crafted to satisfy the baby, using proven elements such as repetition, rhythmic emphasis, and familiar and traditional songs. Crucially, using genuine musical instruments instead of artificial electronics ensures a satisfying experience for both you and your baby.
Music for Baby is a collective effort from musicians who want to offer the perfect soundtrack to their baby’s life. Jaqui Hicks (vocals), Mike Eaves (guitar) and Karen Eaves (music education consultant) have, between them, worked with many live artists, on film and tv, and in West End productions. They are a dedicated and industrious team and run their small independent record label in order to support development and different activities, from pre-natal through to toddler and beyond.
Music for Baby also carries a selection of other cds in their online shop. With titles such as ‘Shake Rattle and Strum’, ‘Jazz Nursery Rhymes’ ‘Acoustic Lullabies’ and ‘Mummy Relax’,
All priced at £10 each. They sell various instruments too, like pink and blue ukuleles, guitar shaped rattles, wooden recorders and mini tambourines. You can download their CDs on iTunes, or purchase them from a variety of baby retail outlets in the south of England. Music is also available as an app for iPhone, iPod and iPad, making it easy for on-the-go mums to access the music and calm their baby.
