The Parent Company is a well-established and leading provider of first aid training for parents and carers. They have a friendly team of experienced paediatric nurses who will come to your home during the day, evening or weekend and teach groups of up to 6 people. As with most first aid classes, their trainers teach the practical skills needed to respond to medical accidents and emergencies. However they also aim to build parents and carers belief in their own abilities, and empower them to respond confidently in an emergency. Classes cover what to do if a baby or child is choking, not breathing or unconscious; first responder actions for common accidents and injuries; recognising high risk signs of illness and assessing the injured or ill child. Easy-to-read wall charts are provided to support the classes and a certificate of attendance will be issued after the class.
