The 'resident' seals at the Seal Sanctuary are all Common (Harbour) seals, these are joined at the sanctuary by rescued seal pups, found washed up on the beaches of the Lincolnshire coast. These abandoned babies are rescued, reared back to health and eventually reintroduced back into the wild. As well as seals there are penguins and a whole aquarium of tropical fish to enjoy. Once the children have seen the seals and penguins being fed, they can have a go themselves in the Pets Corner, where the Koi carp, tortoises, rabbits and guinea pigs are all waiting to be fed and/or cuddled. Opens at 10 a.m. every day except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. Closing times vary throughout the year, for more information call 01754 764 345.
We strongly recommend you ring Natureland Seal Sanctuary before you set off on your family day out, to make sure they are open and to confirm admission prices. It may also be worth visiting the website for Natureland Seal Sanctuary, www.skegnessnatureland.co.uk, to see if there are any special events on the day for which you may have to book a ticket. Please also be aware that if Natureland Seal Sanctuary hosts birthday parties, this may limit the access in the cafe/restaurant areas.
