Albert Dock, Liverpool, Merseyside
Tate Liverpool was opened in 1988 as part of the family of four Tate Galleries around the UK, to share the Tate Collection with people in the North of England. It is housed in a converted warehouse in the Albert Dock, one of the finest groups of 19th century industrial buildings in Britain. A selection of displays from the National Collection of International Modern Art are displayed at various times during the year including 20th and 21st century paintings, and contemporary art too. There are various events throughout the year, and every Sunday between 1.30pm and 4.30pm there are free family events
We strongly recommend you ring Tate Liverpool before you set off on your family day out, to make sure they are open and to confirm admission prices. It may also be worth visiting the website for Tate Liverpool, www.tate.org.uk, to see if there are any special events on the day for which you may have to book a ticket. Please also be aware that if Tate Liverpool hosts birthday parties, this may limit the access in the cafe/restaurant areas.
